1. Bluenote's Crater
Pretty simple. Bluenote makes a large crater with his gravity magic (Or whatever), and I'd like to get a volume for clarification of how impressive it is.
First we need Bluenote's height. Cana is measured at 141 pixels compared to his 186.5. Cana is pretty tall herself, always shown to be taller than Lucy who is a bit short, so a height of 1.65 m seems more than reasonable to me.
186.5 / 141 = 1.323 * 1.65 = 2.183 m, Bluenote's height.
Now I can find the depth of the crater:
Bluenote measures at 43 pixels compared to the depth of the crater reaching 195 pixels down.
195 / 43 = 4.535 * 2.183 = 9.9 m, the depth of the crater.
Finally, we can get the diameter of the crater.
One assumption I have to make is the tree height. As with previous scalings, I'll assume it's 10 m tall here, and based on scans of the island, I'd say it's a conservative estimate.
So the tree measures at 49 pixels compared to 258 for the crater diameter.
258 / 49 = 5.265 * 10 = 52.65 m, the diameter of the crater.
With this, I can get a crater volume.
It would of course be easy to use a sphere calculation and half it, but that produces high-end results. Instead, I've found an equally easy Dome Calculator which can get me a volume.
So then, inputting the 9.9 m depth (Or "height" for the calculator) and the 52.65 m diameter, we get a volume of 11,284.9 m^3, which would be large building level.
2. Fire God's Bellow
Zancrow's attack destroys a large chunk of rock that seems to dwarf the surrounding trees. Using our previous assumption of 10 m for the tree heights, only one scaling is needed here.
Here are some scans of trees in the immediate area:
Based on these scans, I would say 10 m is reasonable.
The half-crater diameter measures at 126 pixels compared to our depth of 61, and the tree being at 17.
126 / 17 = 7.412 * 10 = 74.12 m, the diameter.
61 / 17 = 3.588 * 10 = 35.88 m, the depth.
Putting that in the dome calculator, we get a volume of 101,593.07... but we also need to cut this in half because the attack only made a half-crater, as you can see in the scan, so it actually comes out to 50,796.535 m^3, which is solid city block level.
Kind of surprising given the results we got from Bluenote's crater.
3. Magnolia Town
Pretty simple, just looking to get a basic size of the town.
First, I need to figure out the Cathedral's height, as I will be using angular size for this scaling. The cathedral is supposed to mark the half way point of the time, so when I use angular size to find out how far away it is in a certain scan, I will double the results to get the total size.
The main part of the cathedral is 309 pixels tall compared to a random person nearby being 5 pixels tall. As usual, I'll assign this person the standard minimum height of 1.70 m
309 / 5 = 61.8 * 1.70 = 105.06 m, the height of the cathedral's main section.
The cathedral measures at 52 pixels compared to the town's general width being 446, and the panel width at 1,198.
446 / 52 = 8.577 * 105.06 = 901.1 m, the width of Magnolia Town.
Now to find the length, we need to use angular size.
The horizontal visual field of a person is 200 degrees. The horizontal width of the page is 1,198 pixels...
1,198 / 200 = 5.99 Pixels/Degree
So then, using our height in pixels for the cathedral...
52 / 5.99 = 8.681 degrees, the height of the cathedral.
From here, I only need to input the height in degrees that I found above, and the actual height of the cathedral which I found earlier, while solving for distance.
This gives us 677.97 m. However, since the cathedral is only half way to the end of town, we need to double the results.
1,355.94 m, the full length of Magnolia Town.
So it's 1,355.94 x 901.1 m, which gives us a square area of 1,221,837.534 m^2
4. Lightning Flame Dragon's Roar
Thanks to some previous scalings, namely Waka finding a size for Tenrou Island and my scaling of Grimoire Heart's ship, I can figure out how much rock this attack destroyed, which will give us a very good idea of what Hade's durability is. I've wondered... he can dish out multi-block attacks, but can he take them? We'll find out in a moment.
In my previous blog, I determined that the height of the ship was 104.278 m. The height of the ship here is 233 pixels compared to 95 for the blast diameter... notice that I measured slightly further off from the origin of the blast, as it seems to increase in size as it moves. However, part of that is perspective, so I made sure I measured pretty close to the origin.
233 / 95 = 2.453... 104.278 / 2.453 = 42.51 m, the diameter of the blast.
So then, we see that the depth and width of the rock destroyed are 62 and 64 pixels respectively... I'm just going to say they're both the same for simplicity's sake, as I'm going to be assuming the destruction is a half cylinder, and it's problematic to have circular shape that isn't perfect. So we'll just say that the depth is the half-cylinder's radius is 62 pixels. The blast's radius is 17 pixels by comparison.
62 / 17 = 3.647 * 42.51 = 155.034 m, the radius of the destruction.
Next we need to note the size of the island:
1,072 m according to Waka's scaling.
In the bottom panel, the island is 598 pixels in diameter, compared to the length of the attack's destruction being at 278.
598 / 278 = 2.151... 1,072 / 2.151 = 498.373 m, the length of the destruction.
So then, we have our sizes, now we just need to get the volume. Here I'll be editing in something done by ForTheFun.
That would be extremely low-end town level... very surprising. I had figured Hades durability was multi-block like his destructive capacity.
Bluenote's crater = 11,284.9 m^3
Zancrow's semi-crater = 50,796.535 m^3
Magnolia Town = 1,355.94 x 901.1 m
Lightning Flame Dragon's Roar = 9,932,294.546 m^3
