Cool Story Bro.............
There was a story ?
I missed the story. :/
Leave Korra alone .
Well... you're no fun. :/
Back to this.
LOl, I would rather kill a person then get rid of google.
Korra is awesome, she's athletic, in your face, and a damn right amazing female lead
no,she does'nt -_-
Tomboy is more like it, a very hot tomboy lol.
Keep in mind the show is boy degenerated so having a female lead is not an easy one, Korra show that you can have a a strong female lead to be in a boys show.
Korra to me looks more like katara if you ask me.
I cant wait until the concept of "boy shows" completely dies out.
Yeah flow like the water bender from the first show was a tomboy and she was great.
So was Azula she was beast mode i like her more then anyone on the show but she did not scream lezbo.
Idk what it is about Korra but she has the lezbo look to her.
Bitch be trollin'.
wha. she has an athletic build but she doesn't look like a dude.
Not sure if serious.
If Korra is a Lesbian.
The first Avatar series was actually popular among teenagers and adults, with young women in particular making up the bulk of the fanbase. ATLA was never meant to be a "boy show" and "The Legend of Korra" certainly isn't.
Actually...in a word it kind of...was.
Apparently they had reservations about Korra being a female because of such but after running it by their target demographic the results they got showed it didn't matter if the avatar was a girl so long as she was cool
i wish i could find the vid i watched about it.
Korra is amazing.
Sounds like Sakura
this is not a funny joke jude
How did this get 70+ replies.
If Korra looks like a man to the OP then you really need to get your vision checked.
That being said, the only thing I ever really feared was how she'd be portrayed as a female protagonist. Heaven forbid it be pressured into YOU GO GURLLL POWAH moments and/or have to shed her of her femininity. I only scratched the surface with Korra and am deathly afraid fandom/pairing fandom has already killed most of my enthusiasm behind taking a second glance at this, but what would really make me sad is if the creators caved and gave me a trope instead of an Ellen Ripley. Ellen Ripley was a female protagonist. Lady Jessica was a female protagonist (also Siona Atreides). I might be asking the creators too much outta Korra especially when...ugh...Young Justice is right next door.
Honestly, I thought that the target demographic was generally younger because of the merchandising. I did not get the impression that it was being targeted particularly to boys.
Where Korra is concerned: It is just harder for female protagonists to be accepted overall (for various reasons). I remember reading somewhere about that and how it pertained to the surprising popularity of an older Nick show called "The Secret World of Alex Mack." That was a long time ago. There was not much to worry about after viewers knew of the reincarnation cycle of the Avatar and they saw how well-handled the characters (male and female, young and old) were handled over the entire course of the first series.
And btw, when I first saw that image of Korra standing against the Republic City backdrop, I thought that was epic . Besides marveling at the amazing background, I loved her design and thought that the muscles only added to it.
I think a good portion of the people watching Alex Mack didn't have as many expectations, idiocies, or inadequacies as they would watching Naruto or Korra. I mean...just look at the pairing fandom already for Korra. It hasn't even kicked off and already they've formed camps.
What the fuck happened?!? You didn't see this crap when the Ghostbusters had that cute redhead secretary/assistant. There was no Lion-O/Cheetara or Tygra/Cheetara war (even if the Thundercats lore later confirmed the latter).
The creators should have just erased any romantic hinting. I know that's what I would have done unless I'm Japanese and in the mood for a good troll. Korra would be better off being a wanderer righting wrongs while learning her bending.
Dont watch the series, but from what ive seen in people's sets, she looks like a tomboy.
You'd have to be a fool of the highest calibre, or a troll, or both, to say she looks like a guy.
The world needs more tomboys, in fiction or reality. Nuff' said.
She looks like a muscular chick to me.... Which is just fine if you like that sort of thing...
so in other words, Mael.
you're judging a book by it's cover.
and as for what you're implying Chiba, no. She is athletic muscular/fit.
Bryke didn't make (or want to make) the series specifically for boys but in order for them to get an OK from the studio, it had to pass the boys' standards because apparently "Conventional TV wisdom has it that girls will watch shows about boys, but boys won't watch shows about girls."
You're mistaken. I wasn't implying anything, bro....other than she is muscular/fit, as you said, and that I don't personally like girls that muscular.
I said amazing female lead, not fodder
When I said scratched the surface, I gave it a sample. I ended up being off-put by what they were possibly going to morph her into so I stopped. Not necessarily judging a book by its cover but seeing the future to come and certainly dreading what the ambiance around it is going to create. You can try something once and never again. There is no fault in it. When you don't see Ellen Ripley in a cartoon female and therefore rule it not what you wanted, I don't see your logic equating into this.
Plus when you're surrounded by blabber about it over and over, you tend to get annoyed even when you try to avoid. That happened to me and Scrubs. C'est la vie.
I'd still hit
When I think of Korra, I think of someone burping and scratching themselves.
She may not look like a man, but she exudes the aura of one.
THAT A MAN BABY..............
This is true. I just wanted to point out that she's fit and athletic, but still has curves. I just love that so much. pek
She doesn't have any curves from what i've seen in sets and pictures. That might be why Rios and others think she looks like a dude. I thought she looked like a dude too from the sets I've seen. Haven't watched the cartoon yet but the thick clothes hiding her body and the manish face can throw a nigga off.
She has muscly shoulders and a the personaly of a shonen main character but that's it.
She also somehow reminds me of Sokka, which is a good thing. I liked Sokka. He funny
she has boobs
I'd hit it .
Sorry for the late response.
The internet is the main issue where pairings are concerned. This is where most if of the shitstorms originate and take place. Alex Mack came out during the mid-to-late 1990's, so the internet was not as big then.
Also, there weren't too many pairing opportunities, anyway.
Pairings can have little to nothing to do with the writers of a story. The wars are driven by fans despite any hints that a writer drops are doesn't. Often it is clear what an author wants to do regarding romance, but that won't stop some readers/viewers from pushing their OTP's. I think that even there were not hints regarding romance in the Legend of Korra, someone would manage to pair her up with just about anyone she ran into (even and enemy for that manner). I understand that you may be put off by the possibility of Korra being limited by a pairing, but the only ones who do that are a number of fans and not the writers.
She does have curves and noticeable breasts in some of the official art:
when early pics of her were released, many wasn't sure of her sex.
I have no idea why the fans are all "what? no! how can you think that!" now
Don't tell me you don't see them man.
Manish face? She looks like Katara. Only she's fit, athletic and has a tomboy personality.
Well again i was going by the sets i saw from some people. I saw blue's set where dude looks like he's about to smack her ass and i thought i saw some bromance going on but then i actually saw the show and she looked nothing like a dude. She can get it. She can get it hard.
Actually i'm gonna go lookin for Korra porn now.
I love how a female lead can't be fit and assertive with a small-medium bust without being called a guy. I'm sorry, but she looks as much of a girl as a sporty girl can be. I'm sorry that she doesn't have DDs nor wears a skirt.
And how do you miss the boobs? Honestly. smdh
