That looks really yummy Nep, and a really interesting pairing tbh. Chocolate and melon, never would've put those two together. How'd it taste?

    Pretty good mix actually.

The pancakes themselves since they're not super sweet on their own, even with syrup, add a rich chocolaty contrast to the sweetness of the cream and melon.

Kinda like when you have a simple cake like vanilla and then you add the fruit and frosting, except the pancakes were chocolate so they played a little more into the flavor.

I wouldn't mind making it again sometime.

Nice pancakes nep.. i never would of thought of that nor can i make my own batter. I usually cheat and use the box then add what ingredients i want. I did blueberry once and turned out bad. Its more tricky then you think to make it taste good. I did make banana pancakes once which did taste nice.

    Blue berries are tough.

I find sugar isn't enough alone, they need to cool a little, if they're freshly heated they're still sour. When they cool, they're sweeter.

x3 I'm no expert working with blueberries either buuuut I'll figure out the secret someday!

It's probably just getting some blueberries from up north instead of at the shitty supermarket.

I'm not a big fan of melon in general but I do like vanilla cake with fruit and frosting and chocolate cake with those things would still be yummy so I am antrigued by the taste of it.

I might make something with strawberries but we'll see :catthinks

    Alrighty, let's do this

Struggle series #something: midnight breakfast pancake

Baking powder, sugar cubes and flour

    Add the eggs

    And the water

    Stir that shit

    Then cook

Repeat the operation enough times to find out what temperature doesn't burn the shit out of them, cook a bunch of nice ones, make a sunny side up egg and roast a slice of chicken ham, slap 'em together and voilà

    Entry picture:

It tasted great and for once it didn't look like I puked on my plate

Now I'm gonna eat the burnt ones with some chocolate because fuck counting calories

It's definitely gotta be below medium heat x3 else it cooks one side too fast and you get black pancakes OR you end up being forced to flip early and you get... well you get splatter shaped pancakes.

Yeah I got three or four fucked. Then too low and the pancakes didn't get that nice golden color

What I'm wondering is why they're so thin, everytime my mom makes pancakes they're thin too. I have no clue how to make thick ones

Oh that looks yummy, I like how you put meat into - such a Shiki thing to do lmaaao

From what I've read, a thicker batter will give you thicker pancakes, and a more watery batter will give you thin ones

Yeah I figured it has something to do with the thickness of the batter. I'll try less water next time

That's why it's part of my struggle series, I was out of milk and when I'm set on doing something I don't like to postpone

That's why I'll never make a great dish
