How old would that make Fana...?
She'd be ancient which I don't believe. Maybe the flashbacks are implanted memories.
It's vague how long ago the first Magic Emperor fought the giant demon
Mars is 19 at least
90 - X
Studio shitrot about to ruin another series with their awful adaptation.
Seems like mangastream has taken over scanlation of this.
Only because of the anime announcement. They need that ad revenue.
Aster smacked the shit outta Marth for being a dumbass.
I was liking this chapter. Legitimately. ...and then we got to the end, and all I could think was "Oh boy, here we fucking go with this shit..."
It has been hinted at for a good while.
I have to see first before jumping.
this can really make or break the series, for the most part it was executed pretty good.
having a transformation is one of the things that sticks out.
dbz super sayian- a loved one die (started the trend in shonen)
naruto nine tail- love one die (followed after)
one piece gears- he learnt it from battle experience.
Bha full crawl- he learnt it.
hxh adult gun- love one die
black clover- he gets his shit pushed in and a 3rd party person grants him some power.
comparing to other shonen, it's not typical or predictable tbh.
though it was never hinted that he was of any significant decent or that he had some hidden power.
just that he had a book that gave him a anti magic weapon.
the design looks pretty typical though.
I'll be calling it this from now on.
Nah. When I got to the last page of this chapter, I instantly remembered the first chapter--
Been circling around this series. The art style is similar to NNT. Should I put it on my to read list?
it uses a lot of the generic and repetitive shonen tropes and will remind you FT, One Piece or Nardo with the Nakama bullshit and shit
although, it has few actual cool characters (Yami Sukehiro is the most badass from this series), it has average battles and the art is at least decent too
but i read it mostly because i somewhat like the battles and the whole battle theme of this series
That's suitable enough for me. You and me have pretty similar tastes Blade, so that's good enough reason for me to read it.
They literally use the power of friendship as in teamwork not random bs.
I have to agree with this, the Power of friendship is none existent except for the skinny sword absorbing the magic power of One of his allies.
I hope demon asta delivers the hype. This arc has kinda been boring to me and I really Dont care for the new characters since I'm not Japanese and have no access to the LN. Hopefully Tabata handles these next few chapters well.
Ehhh i wouldn't go that far. I mean asta pretty much used that to help luck over come his winning complex he developed when he was young just by saying "we're teammates"
well i think it was pretty good he included his LN characters into the series, he kinda makes you want to look out for his LN so you don't miss out on extra lil bits of information.
actually it makes you want to support the series even more.
for me it ties in the background history of marth and his sister along with the diamond kingdom to a much clearer degree.
Up until this point i thought Light novels weren't cannon to begin with.
have to disagree, he's only been in a few major fights so far and none of them he gain some boost in his actual power from friendship.
with lotus him and his team worked together to bringing him down.
with marth it was teamwork until he found a new weapon that allowed him to borrow power from noelle? (for some odd reason, he never displayed that same trait again)
with licht he was out of his leauge and yami had to step in.
with vetto pure teamwork. (one of the best tag team efforts to date)
with radols, teamwork.
actually, now thinking about it. this series focus a hell of a lot around teamwork battles.
which is kinda different
my favorite characters are:
Yami, Julius, Luck, Kruger and Lotus
I like Julius however I still can't trust him for some reason.
Yami is a definite fav.
lotus and yami for me, mostly lotus due to his laid back no give a shit attitude.
i believe he's really strong but due to his laziness, he falls of short.
he almost snagged williams had yami not interfere.
also, did anyone know. there's a king of the kingdom of clover who's might and power is equal of that of julius?
people like to rip on black clover because they think the sorcery emperor and hokage are the exact equivalent.
when in actuality, the sorcery emperor is just the highest ranking in the military of magic knights. their duty? to protect their king and the kingdom of clover.
Hokages are like prime ministers or presidents that sit down all day doing paper work.
they are two completely different roles.
Fallen Angels Version
There's a slight difference.
as for enjoyable arcs:
the Underwater Temple arc, the Dungeon arc and the Royal Capital Invasion arc
as somewhat good battles:
Yami vs Licht
Luck vs Lotus/Luck and the others vs Lotus too
Asta and the others vs Vetto
Asta vs Mars (the 1st time)
...I wonder where the Naruto Daimyos fits into your opinion...
Those poitical dudes. All they probably do is make sure the money is flowing. Into there pockets of course XD.
Jk they were never portrayed as corrupt or anything but they were probably mostly just poltical figureheads based on tradition
That was one of the best showcases of teamwork I've seen within the younger/newer manga.
I can't remember the chapter where we're introduced to the guy above Julius.
i don't recall anyone being introduced stronger than julius, the only possible person so far that's maybe stronger is the king of clover and that's a big maybe.
strange enough only two kingdoms have been introduced so far.
the king of the diamond kingdom goal is eternal life and enhancements.
the king of clover goal is to get laid every night.
I didn't mean in power but rather rank. I remember seeing the panel where the King's shadow is shown, I just don't remember the chapter.
Hope we get some more kingdoms soon. Here's an interview from Tabata.
for odd reason i cant see the link.
better fight than any fight in FT, for starters
and to be honest
Asta might be the generic shonen main hero but his fighting style is way better than lolNatsu's or lolNardo's
those highbars, i know, but it's stil something
Almost any manga beats FT in any category.
He's not hesitant to hurt villains neither.
yup, i know
do you expect to see a timeskip, in the future?
it's a popular trend, you know
Only complaint would be so far into the story (I'm on chapter 60) is it feels a tad rushed.
Other than that, I love it!
Ok, wow...I actually liked how this turned out.
The art was great in this one (or is just me?). Those full pages made Asta a freaking badass!
The art is amazing.
Incomplete Demon Asta looks cool
and Radols got rekt
good chapter, overall
This arc has actually been the most boring of the entire manga. Hope we get back to the good stuff soon.
Still don't know yet how i feel about asta new form.
Well on a good note, he didn't follow through with the lose your shit transformation trend.
i actually find the scene where he has this convo with the demon a mock of most shonen trends.
demon " now it's my time to take over his body"
asta "who the fuck is you"
demon "ummmm, you damage me in the past"
asta "Wow, wow there buddy, wtf are you trying to do"
Demon " look, you want to beat this guy or not?
asta "fuck outta here with that BS"
98 - X
So how is the witch able to control asta? Shouldn't his anti magic energy cancel her blood control magic?
Unless she's controlling what he can or can't cancel?
I most certainly didn't see that coming.
A passable twist of events. Nice one, author.
